Bridging the gap to your perfect smile.
One or more missing teeth can adversely affect the function and appearance of your smile. Missing teeth can cause a change in your bite, speech impediments, shifting of the teeth, an increased risk for periodontal disease, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) and a greater chance of tooth decay.
Dental bridges, like partial dentures and implants, are used to replace missing teeth.
Typically, bridges require shaping of the teeth surrounding a missing tooth. Crowns are then placed on the shaped teeth and connected to an artificial tooth (called a pontic).
A resin-bonded bridge requires less preparation of adjacent teeth. It is often used to replace front teeth, provided that the gums are healthy and the surrounding teeth do not have major dental fillings.
